Allbright is a London-based organisation, founded by Anna Jones and Debbie Wosskow, which is involved with female entrepreneurs in a variety of different ways. Debbie Wosskow OBE is the CEO and Founder of Love Home Swap, and Anna Jones is the former CEO of Hearst UK.
Firstly the Allbright Fund is a funding platform for angel investors which is invests exclusively in female-led business opportunities. The fund was created as a response to the fact that only 10% of global venture funds are targeted at female-led businesses. Founded in October 2016, Allbright hope to close the gap and provide finance and support for women in business.
Allbright has also recently launched the Allbright Academy, which are 12-week business programmes, designed specifically for female founders. At the moment they offer two different courses – ‘Starting Up’, for those in their first 6 months of business, and ‘Stepping Up’, designed for existing business owners who wish to uplevel – for example approaching a first funding round, or hiring staff. Starting Up costs between £1099 and £1299 depending on whether you opt for a coaching option, and lasts 11 weeks. Stepping Up costs £799 and lasts 12 weeks. Prices are currently ‘introductory’, so are likely to get higher in 2018. The courses appear to be predominantly online, with small class sizes of up to 12 people.
Finally, this year Allbright ran their first FoundHER festival, in London and Manchester – a series of talks by female entrepreneurs and celebrities. The event took place in June – we’ll keep you posted if we see similar events organised again.
Earlier this year Allbright commissioned a survey of female entrepreneurs – click here to see what they discovered.
