Caroline, tell A League of Her Own readers what The Luxe Collective is all about
The Luxe collective is a hub for inspiring female entrepreneurs, to help them be unapologetically you, own who they are and create a personal/business brand that they love.
What made you decide to become a multi passionate female founder?
I tried the whole cubicle jungle thing and it just wasn’t for me. I knew that I wanted to be more, influence people, help them and create a legacy.
How long did it take for you to put your idea for The Luxe Collective into action?
I am one of those women who acts first and thinks second… so not very long!
What has been your scariest moment as an entrepreneur?
The rollercoaster of cashflow, not knowing when its coming in, how much is coming and trying to keep the faith when sometimes we want to freak out.
What has been your proudest moment?
Winning a lot of awards for both our labels and having clients who walk away being confident, full of self love with a brand that they can’t wait to share with the world.
What is the biggest lesson you have learned from founding your own company?
Have faith and patience.. we all seem to want everything now and don’t realise that these things take time to put in place, time to nuture. You have to keep the faith in times of freak out and know that it will all work out as its supposed to do (of course with some hustle from you too).
What does success mean to you?
Being happy, being able to work location free and not worrying about money.
Has a mistake ever led you to success?
On many times… programmes I have accidently put out have led to new clients, fashion pieces that I didn’t want to put forward have become best sellers and turning TLC into a branding space and collaboration hub for women (which wasn’t my intention) is now a thriving community brand that I love.
Which women inspire you?
Victoria Beckham, Oprah, My mum, Every single woman I meet on a daily basis who is going her own way.
And which men?
My dad, My brother and one of my old school friends who keeps me insanely positive and always reminds me gratitude and belief in myself.
What one thing do you wish someone had told you when you first started out?
Time is money and love yourself and know your worth.
What’s the best piece of business advice someone has ever given you?
To stop undervaluing myself, we all start and want to pick up those clients and often undervalue ourselves and what we can do, once we begin to stop self sacrificing and value who we are and our worth, like attracts like!
